SHS Coal was established 15 years ago, with the vision that steam coal would be a growing alternative energy source, given the rising trend of global oil and gas prices. With close connections with coalmines in Kalimantan and Sumatra, Indonesia, we provide consistent supplies of a wide range of steam coal specifications to wholesalers and end-users.

Through reliable partnerships with marine and inland logistics, coal screening plants and warehousing services in the North, West and Central Provinces in Thailand we provide our customers with flexible and on-time delivery services through a fleet of river barges and dumper trucks depending upon each customer’s requirements.

Our History
SHS Coal’s business commenced in 1998 as Sing Heng Seng Co., Ltd initially focused on Indonesian lumber imports for domestic lumber distribution and processing. Through market research of alternative energy sources and the state of rising global oil and gas prices, we imported the first Ocean Barge of Sub-Bituminous Coal from South Kalimantan, Indonesia in 2003.

Steam coal is the main source of fuel for high-energy requirement industries such as Power Plants, Paper Mills and Cement Plants. However, with continued rising trends in global fuel prices resulting in increased production cost, other segments such as Textiles, Rubber, Metal and Food manufacturers are adopting the use of steam coal to power their plants, triggering the rise in demand for specifically-sized Screened Coal.

To serve the rising demand of Screened Coal, in 2008, SHS Coal expanded upon the wholesale market by acquiring three sets of state-of-the-art Screening Machines, XXX machinery and our own dumper trucks to provide door-to-door service for our clients. With production facilities and warehousing services in areas near water channels and industrial agglomerations in the North, West and Central Provinces of Thailand, SHS Coal provides customers with stable supply and flexible delivery of bulk and screened coal at reasonable prices through direct marine and inland distribution channels.

To react to the global trend in providing greener sources of energy, SHS Coal started their emphasis on cleaner and more efficient coal specifications known as Anthracite and higher grades of Bituminous Coal in 2011. By producing more efficient heat value and fewer emissions at a lower quantity utilized, Anthracite and higher grades of Bituminous Coal now account for more than 30% of SHS Coal’s sales.
